Fifty years ago today in the U.S., on June 2, 1967, the Beatles released Sgt. Pepper’s Lonely Hearts Club Band. It remains a shining achievement and many fans and critics still consider it the best album in history.
The Fab Four continued the experimentation they had started with Rubber Soul and Revolver, including the adoption of their eponymous alter ego. But in addition to being a groundbreaking concept album, it is an incredible collection of songs.
